I just tried out Avant Window Navigator for the first time, after seeing Neil’s latest blog entry. It’s pretty slick, and worth trying if you have xgl/aiglx/whatever. I also wrote a Banshee plugin which makes the current track cover appear in the dock.

Banshee playing “Stadium Arcadium”
You can get the plugin here. Just drop the dll into ~/.gnome2/banshee/plugins.

Well, it’s slick, but not really very functional at all. I like gimmie a lot more, even though it doesn’t have the whizzy effects. I couldn’t use a-w-n as a panel replacement, but I do use gimmie for that.
Cheers dude. Works great
in the source there’S still mention of the multimedia keys plugin
Sweet… I had no idea this program existed. I absolutely love the plugin. It would be sweet if the icon could display progress on operations: Import, Burning, Ripping, etc as in the screencast on Niel’s blog.
Thank you!
Hi
Thanks for this plugin. Work very well for me
Is it possible to adapt it to add command in the dock ? (Possible with the last SVN version, a Rhythmbox plugin doing that is available).
Thanks for the plugin.
Is it possible to add control buttons like play/pause, next, previous to the plugin just like in rhythmbox plugin.
I have seen a strange problem using the plugin. After enabling the plugin in banshee, when i close the application, the applications restarts automatically. This happens at least 2-3 times before the application closes.
I tried disabling the plugin and works fine.
I think I discovered a bug. When you enable your awn plugin in banshee and try to stream a (user-added) internet radio station, banshee crashes. If I disable the plugin, radio is playing fine.
Is there a way to make this work with Banshee 1.0?
Another one looking for Banshee 1.0 compatibility. Cheers.
Hey, nice work!
+1 For 1.0 compatibility
Since Banshee is being installed as “banshee-1″ these days, where does the .dll file go? There is no such folder as ~/.gnome2/banshee/plugins, and I’ve tried putting the .dll in the Extensions and Banshee.Plugins folders in both /usr/lib/banshee-1/ and /usr/lib/banshee as well as ~/.config/banshee/plugins and ~/.config/banshee-1/plugins
Would like for this to start working soon
Yet another +1 for updating this for Banshee 1.0!
A plugin for new banshee is available in the awn-extras bzr repository : https://code.launchpad.net/~awn-extras/awn-extras/trunk
Has anyone got the plugin for banshee-1 (1.4.1 to be precise) to work? I managed to install the plugin into banshee correctly i.e. it shows up in the list of plugins in Edit > Preferences > Extensions > AwnIcon . However, the launcher for banshee in awn just has the default banshee icon regardless of what is playing. Have I missed a step in configuring Awn or is banshee-1 still unsupported?
